2019
How a University Idea Became India’s Smartest Pet Brand
Back in 2019, while studying in Munich, Germany, Rahil Khan was part of a university project where students had to pitch a business idea. As a passionate pet parent, he noticed how advanced and thoughtful pet care products were in Europe.
It struck him that such innovation was missing back home in India. That spark turned into a mission: to revolutionise pet care in India with smart, tech-driven solutions. And just like that, the seed for Smart Pet was planted.
2020
It wasn’t Just an Idea. It Was a Calling
In 2020, Rahil dove deeper into the tech industry, exploring everything from IoT to product design. Interestingly, no matter what direction he explored, he kept circling back to one thing: using tech to make life better for animals. It was more than a coincidence—it was a calling.
That’s when Smart Pet was born. A brand built to revolutionize pet care in India, by blending global innovation with local love.
2021
Blessing in Disguise
Then came 2021. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, the world—and especially India—witnessed a surge in pet ownership. As a pet parent to his cat Kai, Rahil began importing innovative toys and accessories that weren’t available locally. Seeing the gap firsthand, he knew it was time to act
2022
Where Passion Met Purpose
In 2022, Rahil moved to Kuwait for a job. There, he adopted another cat, Coco, and once again found himself exploring high-tech pet care solutions. Inspired more than ever, he spent 2023 saving up every bit he could—driven by one dream: to bring global-level pet care to India.
That same year, he returned home, took the leap into entrepreneurship, and brought Smart Pet to life—a brand built with love, tech, and the belief that every pet parent in India deserves smarter solutions.
2024
India’s Pet Care Revolution Begins Here
And in 2024, Smart Pet officially launched.
The response was overwhelming. Customers loved the innovation, the quality, and the thoughtfulness behind every product. Many reached out personally to thank Rahil for bringing something new, much-needed, and meaningful to India’s pet care space.
